AP Statistics –Project 3

For this project you will produce a 1-2 page data analysis report on a topic of your choice, using your one-variable analysis skills.

Here are the requirements:

1. The report will be typed using Microsoft Word.

2. Find data on a topic of your choice – at least 20 data points are necessary

3. Type the data in some organized form on your paper (perhaps a table)

4. Put the data in numerical order

5. Find the mean and the 5-number summary of the data

6. Make a histogram (in Fathom) and paste it into Word

7. Make a boxplot (in Fathom) and paste it into Word

8. Type a one-paragraph summary of your data. You should also state what you learned from your analysis of the data.

9. Do your best to squeeze everything onto one page in Word. It is OK if it goes over to two pages, but try to fit it onto one page if possible.

10. The project will be worth 20 points and will be judged on completeness, organization and neatness. Take pride in your work.

Note: You will need to save your work in your period’s Project 3 folder inside the AP Stat folder on the network, using your name as the file name.
